Have you went anywhere yet?

We are trying to plan our first big trip here in Europe.  We don't know exactly when we want go, or exactly where we want to go so I'm looking in books and online.  I picked up some guide books from the library today to get me started.

There is so much perceived pressure to go out and travel that we feel like we are letting someone down if we don't jump right into touring all of Europe.  Who exactly are we letting down?  I don't know.  We just want to take advantage of being in such a wonderful area.  It's overwhelming.  All the public service things on tv and radio tell us we should "go out and see Europe".  We were warned to not live in "the triangle".  The triangle is going from your house, to work and to the base with the stores.  It's easy to just do what is comfortable.

I have to keep telling myself that we really don't have to live up to anyone's ideals but our own.  We are not letting anyone down by not running all over Europe with three kids in tow.  Traveling with a two year old is not easy anywhere, much less a foreign country.  It costs money to do all that traveling.  We will travel eventually.  We will see Europe, but on our own terms and no one else's.
